I am looking for a notebook with a budget of S$1,400 to S1,600/-. Minimum Processor speed i5, 4GB DDR3 SDRAM, 500GB HDD, DVD super Multi, graphic card, ATI HD 5650 1GB or about this range, screen display, High Definition LED display, 6 cell.

I would appreciate your advice of which brand and model I can consider.

And besides gaming, there is far more scope for a PC device. Whether it’s photoshop or web design or music creation or programming, you can do anything on a PC, and these notebooks let you do all that while on the move or while sitting in bed. The fact that this device also lets you unplug the screen is a nice bonus too. Although I can’t help but think it’s somewhat redundant. If I had a normal notebook, I can’t imagine often craving the ability to detach the screen.

@ivanoschen – I used to carry a very heavy notebook with me. But it wasn’t practical to do so. The iPad can’t let me work on spreadsheets, presentations, etc, at least not like I want it to. It’s a nice machine, but I’m going to hold out for a while.

It’s a nice idea. But I cant imagine why I would leave the keyboard behind. So it would mainly live as a laptop. For instance,if I left my laptop at work and commuted home with the tablet what then?

@TheWeirdTwinkie Commercials do have the tendency to exaggerate the performance or quality of the thing being advertised. Even the worst computers on earth have commercials that say they’re awesome. This is why advertising and news-editorial (the sort of people who review computers,) are separate majors within journalism schools. Want pretty-and-shiny? Commercial. Want honest? Review. Two different things that shouldn’t be confused -though many people do.
