I give a brief ‘tour’ of my boxed role-playing game collection. Often seen in my videos, it finally gets center stage!
i had no idea how many role playing games were out there
@smartrocker14 Amazon US has a 2005 hard cover Torg book listed for $40.
I am jealous of TORG. That game looks so good, mostly on part of setting.
I remember playing Chill when it first came out, thought it was great. Then I played CoC and never touched it again ha ha.
You should have pulled them out a bit so we could have seen the covers.
Nice collection. I really enjoy the box sets. If only I still had my old Tekumel box set.
@RealNemo235 I also haven’t played in years. I still consider myself a collector though. In fact I should have a new book being delivered today.
The only game I had never heard of is Metazone.
I collect alot of games also. Call of Cthulhu and Gamma World are two of my favorites.
Sadly, I haven’t played in years. Do you still play anything?
@vynterbone The 1992 4th edition. I did a review of it. One book and it pretty much covered it all.
Neat!
Which Gamma World Edition did you enjoy the most?
Cool! Thanks Tesubo! Of course, all the obscure stuff like Jorune and Lords of Creation is the stuff I’m most familiar with. Lords of Creation is awesome, definitely one of the more bizarre games to ever come out.
@DirtyBriefcase I much prefer single books over boxed sets. They wear better and take up less shelf space.
What is your opinion on boxsets verse single books?
@azirk83 But Cyborg Commando is not good. I actually haven’t heard of Empire of Satanis before.
I just played the entire video on YT and it ran OK. I’m not sure why it was corrupted on your end.
@kungfoolai All of these games are tabletop role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons. Most of them are there own rules but some of them use the D&D rules. I don’t own a Xbox or PS3. The only video game system that I own is an original Nintendo system. I think I have 3 games for it.
@pridday88 That’s cool. I think I may only have one foreign language RPG game in my collection. It’s in French.
Nice collection. I have the original Paranoia as well–and still like that version best. I have the Basic D&D red box set too, but in Chinese!
Very few games I haven’t heard of. Your shelf would drive me nuts, as it seems to be without any rhyme or reason when it comes to order.
Cyborg Commando isn’t the worst game ever. It’s not even in the top 5. Hybrid, FATAL, RaHoWa, Wraeththu and Empire of Satanis all beat it out.
I don’t know about others, but the video went haywire for me, like the UDP traffic was routed through somebody’s bathwater or something.
i havent heard of any of your games, what system are they for?
do you have any xbox 360 or ps3 stuff?
@Maximusmadrica I have 60+ feet of shelving space dedicated to RPG boxed games and books. I’ve been collecting since 1978. It’s the largest collection I’ve ever seen though I have heard of larger.
@tetsubo57 I notice this is your older collection, I can only imagine the newer stuff you have.
@Maximusmadrica Thanks. I like to reread or at least do an overview of an older game before I review it. Some of these games I haven’t read since I bought them new. Add in the new games I am reading plus the non-fiction I read… and it might be awhile.
Whenever you run out of topics you can review a book at a time. That is one classic collection.
@alokov I think that is Glantri and it is a Mystara boxed set.
@tetsubo57 Don’t think so, sorta goldish yellow, and the c was bigger I think. Right underneath Cyberpunk 2020 (or close) Looks like a Mistra box, but it’s not the main one. This has just been buggin me for a while is all.
Game 5 '01 was a huge win for the Yanks and it really looked like they were going to win the series there, up 3-2. I ranked it under Game 4 because of Jeter's walk-off HR. It's more special than Soriano's walk-off single in game 5. Good point about the O'Neill chant, totally forgot about that. Either game would be a good choice.
Still, I feel like there should be a seperate DVD of just classic Jeter games. We could put Game 5 on my list and add Cone's perfect game instead of the dive game.
The Jeter DVD would have:
The dive game
Game 4 '01 WS
The Jeffery Maier game ('96 ALCS game 1)
2000 WS game 4 (leads off game with HR, Yanks win 3-2)
The Flip game

@ChatRouletteGang This isn’t counting all of my softcover & hardcover games. I have some 60+ feet of shelf spaced dedicated to them all. Been collecting since 1978.
