Great questions.

I am left wondering why individual teachers must make such decisions. Does every teacher have to choice the text books that will used or the minimum cirriculum that must be taught during the year?

If there is growing expectations to incorporate technology and the internet into what students learn, then there should be an equal expectation that the school district provide a support / decision making mechanism. Someone else should be sorting through those tools and sites and providing you with a menu of appropriate sites and tools that you can choose from.

Just my opinion.
