This is a video tutorial on how to open a Dell Inspiron laptop; specifically the 1525. In this video it is opened from the top side, the keyboard is taken off. From there you can take off the additional screws to get to certain parts of the system that aren’t found on the back side. But I can’t find a document on the internet showing how to do it, so I’d rather not break my laptop.

ahaha I have the same laptop same color and that little apple sticker at the same spot. Awkward.

masterlucee02

No worries, the back is where the fan+blockage is. :)

masterlucee02

Sorry I don’t know how and haven’t attempted.
Although I do know that it is integrated, ie build into the motherboard, so you can’t change it. :/

excusme I have a dell inspiron 1525 and I want to change it’s graphic card from intel to so can u make a video showing how to change the graphics card

Hey mate, very helpful video. I’ve opened the back and cleaned the heatsink for the fan. But when i try and open the top bit, the bit where you slide a flat object in the groove to open the panel where the on button is, it just bends! It won’t open at all. It just bends around the point where the volume button is. Very annoying, and i don’t want to force it any more, as it really doesn’t seem to want to come off! Shame.

masterlucee02

Sorry mate, see my other video for how to clean out the fans, this one is more difficult. :P

marcjets1

dude take out the actual keyboard…i gotta know how to do that….and also if i blow on the fan…all the dust will spread can you show how to open it and get to the fan

memorex9998887

yea this is the cheepiest piece garbage laptop i ever owned

masterlucee02

Sorry, this was before I realized to get to the fan the easier way is to go from the back. :P

masterlucee02

Nah, just run a chkdsk, look it up on Google.

I prefer the Windows OS because none of my software is supported on the Mac.

As well as the new look and feel of Windows 7 surpassing that of the slowly out dated Mac OS.

veneno0555

why don’t u put mac os on ur system? I put mac os x on my inspiron 1525 wich is the 1 u have, I wanted to buy a mac but is money that I don’t have so i make my own.

veneno0555

by any chance did u install any OS? if u still having that problem u may want u put a new operation system on ur computer I’m using windows 7 ultimate on a 4 Gb RAM, and it works fine.

Abhinand1006

Very helpful tutorial indeed…. mine worked really nice after it…

Btw there are two screws beneath the battery which can be seen once the battery is removed. These screws hold the top panel in place. They have to be removed before removing the top panel..

amerikanfker

when i turn on mypc it says, error in harddisk, wat shud i do?

MrBalamory

this was really helpful, however if your laptop has just overheated leave it a while before u poke around with it coz i burnt my finger. but the computer is great now

halpanguor boldreur

As I said, I need to find the documentation, if you could find it for me, I'd gladly make a video for you.

thou martz

You mean that green or orange or purple disc that came with your Dell ? (Green for the OS i believe)

Hmm…well if its under warranty, they should be free. Pfft, even if it isnt, Dell should just ship you those……because they only work with Dells (and youve already bought from them)

And im sure you know somebody that has a Dell….those green discs will work with any dell. It's something in the bios that knows your using the dell discs

Wanna say something?
