How to get Stereo mix on windows vista and windows 7

(NOTE) If you don’t want to watch the video, read this. You have to install Stereo Mix and to make sure it’s installed, check the programs and features then go to uninstall… then if it says “Realtek HD Audio Driver” then it’s on your computer. You also have to go to the sound button on the bottom right of the computer, right click it then choose Playback Devicesthen click show disabled devices. I installed the software, restarted my computer, but I did not get stereo mix. 
didnt work for me. its not there on the recording page.

I did it & it works for me … but there is a new issue the qulity became very bad the Mic & the speaker too .. ????

Did not do anything on my Gateway M6750. But actually I NEVER had the ability to select “Stereo Mix”. My computer doesnt have it. Tried downloading Realtek etc etc, NOTHING! My computer is probably not capable or something. Then to get me MORE ANNOYED. Now the stupid LINE IN option DISAPPEARED!!! No matter how many time I click “Show disabled” etc etc etc and MORE etc. The line in ALWAYS worked. Now the stupid thing just STOPS working (line in doesnt show)
