This is a more detailed video of how to use RealPlayer to record internet video. It is an actual screenshot video demonstration. I made this video because people have asked me in forums about how to do it after I figured it out and I wanted to share my knowledge. I’m not an expert or anything, but I love sharing things that I do know. RealPlayer now does work in Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Google Chrome, but this video explains how to record video without one of those browsers.

I am not sure if RealPlayer will record live chat or not, most likely not. To record my screen to make this video, I used Cam Studio which is a free screen recording software found on the web. Just Google Cam Studio and you will find it..

To the best of my knowledge, you can record any non-protected online video. On some sites, they copyright protect their videos electronically in a way where you can’t record them with any recording software.

When you first install RealPlayer, it should be automatically enabled. It currently only works with Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Google Chrome. If you go into the preferences, you should be able to set it too. I think to get there, you have to use one of the tabs at the top and it will take you there. I now have a 64 bit system and it doesn’t work with it.

How do you enable the Blue thing that may or should be enabled above the video?

Not that I know of. I only know how to record the whole video first. After it is recorded, you can edit it in a movie editor like Windows movie Maker or some other video editing program.

I think you have to first copy them and then play or edit them there.
