This is a tutorial on how to record ingame audio and video along with microphone commentaries using FRAPS and Vista/Win7. Realtek HD Audio Drivers – www.realtek.com.tw Click the Downloads option at the top of the screen and click NEXT after agreeing to the terms of service. Then select your current operating system and version(32bit or 64bit) and download. Run the .exe once to uninstall your current drivers then reboot. Run the .exe again to install the Realtek HD audio drivers and reboot. When you reload, there should be that orange speaker in your taskbar showing that you have it installed. This video was recorded using Camstudio – www.camstudio.org/ If you have any questions, leave a comment or message me and I’ll try to help out. *Random Disclaimer* I do not accept responsibility for any damages that might occur. It is not working for me. The problem is: Once I set FRAPS to “Use Windows Input”, it selects Stereo Mix as it sohuld. But when I hit the Video Capture Hotkey ingame, it doesn’t start recording. No sound, no video, nothing. (When I enable the FPS overlay, it doesn’t turn red). Using “Detect best sound input” it works fine, but then I have no voice recording, obviously. Any solutions?

xp is REALLY outdated LMAO

I can’t set set Stereomix as default…
The option is available (grey) when Stereomix is disabled, but if it’s enabled the option is gone =(
I looked around but haven’t found an answer yet. Do you know how to fix this???

MrSwarleye

Thanks man, windows 7 is the best (Y)

When I right click on Stereo Mix it doesn’t show “set as communication device”

finalfallenhaven

um… I need help, I did everything you said but no matter what, all stereo mix seems to do for me is cut off all the sound for the videos I record. I know you are using Windows 7 too so I didn’t think my operating system was the problem, but after stumbling across a hp support forum topic stating a failing correlation between Windows 7 and Stereo Mix, I am just curious whether that is a good possibility of my failure to record sound with Fraps. Btw, I’m pretty sure nothing is simply muted.

I need help : (
My fraps will only record from I’m guessing a built in mic on my laptop. . .
It records the sounds of me tapping on the keys and clicking the mice and any voices but wont record any ingame sounds unless it’s recording the sounds coming out of the speakers.
