great review….
quick question- ive never owned a netbook before. I want a small lap top that has great battery life, and which I will use mainly for reading PDFs. do you feel a 10 inch screen is too small for this? Should I search for a 12-14 incher?

many thanks

@EDP407 yes? irelands a part of the uk…… jesus christ :L

@CJCorndog5595 I’m sorry. I actually wanted to say “netbooks.” It’s shitty netbooks that I think should die. I really did make a mistake. I don’t think netbooks have much of a purpose. Notebooks, tablets, smartphones, and desktops are all good.

@groMMit1981 “I don’t mind a premiume but if I can buy a HDTV, Xbox 360 and a netbook for the price hike they cna stuff it.”

Obviously, you are interested. Your interest was money, not the actual computer, so, I told you it plays games better than the 360, has the HD display built-in and is, of course, way more computer than any netbook.

Lack78 doesn’t have the new MacBook Pro, so, why would you ask him? I’m paying attention just fine, maybe you should be more clear in your own questions ^-^

groMMit1981

@iDiggMGL i’m not interested in the netbook, never was, never said I was.
Maybe you should pay more attention in class :) Could the shiney shiney MBP display be affecting your eyesight as you never read my post correctly?
I brought up the MBP as Lack78 does alot of Apple coverage and the Envy 14 is targeted at the same market.

iDiggMGL

@groMMit1981 Well, what’s you deal? Like, what are you doing with this computer? If you’re just looking for a great gaming notebook, I don’t know why you even brought up the MacBook Pro. I mean, it’s great for gaming if you’re not looking for a gaming PC. Like, I use mine for school and video editing and it does incredible for gaming, which I do lightly, but it’s still great.

My point: i5 MacBook Pro is better than the three separate items. More powerful than a netbook, 360, has HD display.

groMMit1981

@iDiggMGL its my loss going for an HP Envy 14 instead of a MBP? its the other way round as MBP is WAY overpriced in the UK, screen not as good, lower res I believe +no directx11 also I’d have to dual boot and mess about.
GT330M it ok for for med/low gaming but its not amazing. M11x with its low resolution is just acceptable. If you want great then 5830/5850/5870 from ATI is way to go but no descent options about only Asus G73 which again is WAAAAY overpriced in UK.

Congrats dude! On 300 videos! Here’s to another 300! :D

@Thegorrila he is from Ireland……

pacorocks1

very nice :D

PoliticalHell

It looks like a mini version of one of those 1990′s notebooks. Why is it that business models are always so ugly?

likethepear

Don’t people know the effing difference between Ireland and Northern Ireland?!

good review

@matt56037 lol

@mannypeligroso
I doubt it will run a low voltage i3. They will probably stick with the C2D so they don’t have to use the Intel GPU. They will stick with a C2D and a 320m.

and how can you dominate a market when the thing costs 1600 bucks. I can get a 15” macbook pro for that. In fact…I have.

CJCorndog5595

@legr8est1234

So you think only Desktops and shitty netbooks should be around?

iDiggMGL

@groMMit1981 Ya the GT330m is all that! It’s amazimg with all of todays games. In fact, it’ll probably run games better than an xbox 360, while having the HD display built on the computer with an i5 to i7 processor which would blow the netbook away. Your loss though.

iDiggMGL

It’s interesting but the battery-life must be the worst, I’d guess around an hour an a half. Not worth it, I don’t think.

mannypeligroso

It looks like Apple is really looking to dominate the netbook market.It’s rumored that the new MacBook Air will be announced sometime before the end of this month.While the current MacBook Air is not entirely a netbook, the newer version will be close to it. It’s rumored to have a reduced screen size at 11.6 inches and be even smaller and thinner.Also, will run a low voltage i3 processor, rather than an atom.

matt56037

@COD4kade but Dave actually knows what he’s talking about.

The are tons, and tons, and tons, and tons, and tons of annoying netbooks…

But only one iPad (which I bought) and only one MacBook Air, made to stand out as the leaders of the industry
