The most common viruses are trojans that try to steal personal information, and zombie botnets which spammers use to compromise network servers and send out spam email through them without the user knowing (eating cpu and network resources). Agree on AVG it is so bad it should be blacklisted
Ccleaner is awesome i love it , once it once a week
I also use malwarebytes to scan and Avira as a running AV

fury098

AVG = WACK
Spybot + ccleaner = the best free computer maintenance available

I have a better idea, Don’t download video’s thinking there only gonna be 126k in size! cause once its in your computer it’s a pain to get out so avoid to begin with….also a video is not gonna be a azx file or some other wired shit it’s commen sense I havent got a virus since I have had limewire, also don’t download wma files 3500k or less a song needs to be 5000k at least when useing a wma file mp3′s are fine most of the time

arkonastriborg123

avira is best

NuubLolXD

I use: Avira, A-squared, malwarebytes, hijackthis

Here is some advice to everyone using P2P networks to get music files. Do not use Limewire, Kazaa or Bearshare. All of these p2p networks are riddled with nasty viruses, malware, spyware, and all that bad stuff. I nearly lost a computer to using those two networks, and this was three and a half years ago. Just a word of caution guys. I use AVG,Spybot, and Hijack this. All of those programs work great for viruses, malware, spyware, and etc.

I found Having Avira, Spybot and Ccleaner (Crapcleaner) the 3 essential software applications to have.

omid11

i used jotti all the time then they changed their interface and it sucks so i just use virustotal now ;p

I don’t know why the trojan wasn’t easily detected, because Avast is tied with Avira as the best free anitivirus programs in the world.

ManiacforZelda

Are you kidding? I installed avast, AVG, and Avira all at once and tested them all with the deactivated trojan and AVG and avast found it no problem. Does Avira even have resident protection?

pausec

speak for your self

lol

wiccapagan

I’ve never had any problems with avg, but I’ve haven’t found freeware anti spyware b4 now

bradjoe96

You can get a trial version of AVG, or a free version, or a paid for version. AVG is all around bad anyway. I recommend Avira Antivir
