Read through carefully, I don’t want a bunch of “wats da pass 2 file?” comments. ;) This is my first Linux tutorial. 1: Download: filebeam.com Use password “mandriva” 3: YOU MUST USE THE LINUX SOFTWARE MANAGER TO GET “ndiswrapper” (Version 1.56 seams to run just fine) TO INSTALL THESE DRIVERS!!!!!!!!!! No if, ands, or buts about it. Make sure you have WINE too(for extracting from the .exe), or this won’t work… 4: Run the downloaded .exe with WINE, click “Browse…” and go to the folder you made on your desktop, click “OK” then click “Unzip”, once finished click “Close”. Open the folder you made, goto “your new folder” \ Wireless LAN \ Broadcom. Find the “bcmwl5.inf” file, and copy it to your desktop. (You may delete the folder you created on your desktop.) 5: Open “Configure your Computer”, type your password as prompted, click “Hardware” then “Browse and configure hardware” then “Ethernetcard” then “Run config tool” then “Wireless (Wi-Fi)” then “Use a Windows driver (with ndiswrapper)” then “Install a new driver” then make your way to the .inf file you put on your desktop, then click “Ok” and go from there for yourself(configuring network settings). NOTE: It may make a error once or twice, but that’s a known issue, because of Mandriva’s network controller. Leave a comment, rating, or something. ;)
