I start back track but I never get a log in prompt

When I start the shell, I don’t see bt ~ # , rather I see root@bt
Am I doing anything wrong. Also I don’t remember the bt log in either.

so it should look like ettercap -T -i wlan0 -q -p -M ARP

you have 1 small mistake, when opening firefox the starting page is not loaded form the internet. Otherways great work

Many of broadcom and intel adapters do not work with BT on vmware. In this case you might give it a shot with live CD or bootable USB image.. Live CD did the trick for me.

Use a USB network adapter, make sure it’s compatible with monitor mode and packet injection before you buy it.

using bt4 ..everything loads fine just like your screen..but I get nuthin ..i edited the conf file ..for root ..but still nuthin…Im running bt4 w/ vmare..any help would be appreciated..I have tried forums …no good….i did see sumthin about ip fowarding..please help .thanks

i have tried but it is not listing anything.i m using vmware and set my network as NAT.i didnt use bridge.when i give the command iwconfig it says no wireless card.what do i do now.when ettercap is running but it does not give any response.Can you plz tell me the full installation guide of BT3 ,BT4 and some commands like how to install files as we use in windows like flash player.exe .how to use rpm,and other installtion files.

I downloaded a backtrack3 bootable cd.
it’s work fine in my brother laptop but not in mine
I don’t know why, it’s just keep giving me a mouse course and a big black X letter in the meddle of the screen.
