In this video, I discuss the new browser revision from Apple, Safari 4 beta. Safari 4 beta touts a much faster javascript engine, a new “top sites” feature, coverflow integration with history, and a revamped interface for tabs. I love the speed of the browser, but the interface changes will take some getting used to. I’m not too crazy about the Google Chrome-like tabs on the top of the browser, but I can live with it since I do use Google Chrome. It just doesn’t fit with the rest of Apple’s applications. The coverflow features are nice eye-candy but I doubt I will use it often. I do love the Top Sites feature not only because it shows your most common sites, but that you can customize and re-arrange them to meet your preferences. All in all, Safari 4 beta is a great start to a new version of Safari. I love the faster javascript and top sites, and I believe Apple will improve other features in the future. Take care!

CPnieuws

Safari 4 is very good.

zlabreche09

im using safari 4 right now lol. its not bad at all

drdistracto707

The chrome look is much better, tabs on top saves browser real estate, letting you see more of the web page

conansters20

can i have safari 3 ( i have safari 4 beta) back? without downloading anything?

blckprljin

I don’t normally like Beta either, but I really do enjoy this Beta version. :)

Jerrycosyweegirl

Google chrome is the same speed as Safari expect on Javascript where Safari runs Javascript faster currently.

Google chrome will not render pages faster than Safari ever unless they change rendering engine.

Hotmail issues has been resolved by Microsoft. Msn messenger issue is not present in current webkit builds and was a small bug that went un-noticed in the Safari 4 beta on release.

screenflow

eaterjolly

where do i get that screen recorder software?

KissMyVideo

Ill wait for the Safari 4 not the beta I dont like the beta of most programs

SolarTurtle13

The reason all the Safari features are like Chrome is because they’re both based on the Apple Webkit engine.

gorskieeee

safari 4 fucks up mac msn messenger, so i had to downgrade..

Anonymous5125

i hate the new chrome look, and the windows version looks AWFUL (it uses the windows theme). Bad move apple.

…I’m kidding, I am a software developer…hehe. And fuck you to whoever gave my Firefox comment a thumbs down!

shamama23

nope..when the software is in beta it usually has a lot of bugs, so they let ppl use it and let them report any bugs so that they could fix it in the final release version

D0rikin

I uninstalled it cause it effected MSN for MAC OSX… Each time i hit enter to send a message it lost focus from the text field… so i had to keep re clicking into the message box to type something else… same went for Skype… Also… I could not click on any links in hotmail email… correction… i mean emails… they emails did not open when clicking on them in your inbox… sent both issues using the report bug and uninstalled

taiki1994

Ultimately you can’t say much until it exits beta stage. Previous beta’s of Safari had major speed changes when going into its final version.

UnilauhOnlineGamer

It’s alright. As usual, Apple makes it look trashy on Windows and the did copy Chrome a bit. Next, it makes no sense to add coverflow to it. What does that even add? And finally, for me, it wasn’t that fast. Pages load slower. Even Apple’s own page loaded slower than FF or Chrome. Crazy. But, I digress. Good job though Bwana! Love your stuff!

ReeshTV

Decent browser. Apple thinks they innovate so much…they ripped a bunch of Google Chrome. Chrome is a kick ass browser. Love it

davidbcfc1

they say safari 4 is faster than chrome, no its not, and safari just copied chrome and made a bad job

Grukash1393

I agree, i HATE that safari now looks like Internet Explorer…

monkmonk666
