re: “Although human-intensive customer service is usually regarded as costly and inefficient, operations like craigslist — where Craig Newmark’s title is, famously, customer service representative and founder — invite us to rethink that conventional wisdom”
well… I'd rethink again! (especially the *combination* of human-intensive customer service AND severely understaffed “customer service team” a la craigslist)

What I like: everything.
Dejanee I have bad news and good news for you in answer to your problem.
As you have been told already RAM is HARDWARE, an actual piece of metal (a circuit) which you buy and insert into your mother board. It takes about 5 seconds to do it, that's all.
The good news is that 1Gig of RAM used to cost about $60 just a year or so ago./ To-day is about $25 or less. (only by shopping around. Some computer stores will quote you twice as much as others).
I don't think you could put the RAM in yourself so this is what I suggest you do.
Log in to http://www.crucial.com and download this free easy program. It will tell you (if you follow instructions) JUST what type of RAM you need (there are lots of different ones).
It will also tell you HOW MUCH RAM your computer will hold and will even tell you what it should cost.
My advice, once you find out what specification you need is to get TWO gigs of Ram, not one. The reason is that 2 Gigs is almost the minimum amount required not only for future use but for future operating systems that you may wish to install nest year (like Windows 7 which is just a beauty).
OK, now you have written down what you need (the number of the type of RAM) now shop around, asking how much it would cost to install that on your PC.
If you have trouble, phone your local computer club president. Those old guys are not rich and they know everyone that can install RAM without over charging you.
Much good luck and welsome to Answers. I see you just joined a few days ago.
