Advantages: Large screen, good speakers, and great keyboard; zippy Core i3 processor.

Disadvantages: Mediocre battery life; boxy and bulky design.

Conclusion: With Intel’s new Core i3 processor, the Vaio EB1JFX/B is an affordable big-screen laptop that does many things well without much sacrifice.

Sony Vaio E-Series

Based on multiple reviews for the new E series of Sony Vaio, it has received many negatives for the bulky weight, and modest battery life.

The big, bright, glossy 16×9-pixel LED display on the Vaio EB1JFX/B measures 15.5 inches across, and looks somehow even larger when it’s being used. The screen stretches across most of the upper lid with minimal spot; its brightness and color quality was excellent to our eyes, and though the resolution at 1,366×768 pixels isn’t full 1080p HD, we were able to open documents and windows side-by-side for multitasking, and thought that the screen offered very good real estate. The Vaio EB1JFX/B also has some very loud speakers, with good bass and treble, the E surprised us with TV-quality stereo speakers that are perfect for movie watching and video sharing.

The E series is intended mainly for college students intending to show their new outrageous laptop like the E series. The E series offers a multitude of colors. The Design of the Keyboard is very comfortable and catchy. There is an enough space between the buttons to enable fast typing and comfortable setting.

Vaio Key Specs

On the left of the E-laptop you can find eSATA port, a single HDMI port for outputting video to your HD television, one VGA port, and an Ethernet jack, as well as the power connector. The right side of the computer supports the tray for the Blu-ray drive, plus three USB 2.0 ports. The laptop accepts Sony’s Memory Stick (and its many variants), as well as SD cards, via slots on its front edge, where you’ll also find standard headphone and microphone jacks.

Screen

The screen is 15.5 Inch wide-screen which is very vivid.  With a resolution of 1366 X 768 movie playback and games can be viewed with high quality. The view angle is acceptable and can accommodate two viewers at the same time. Glossy wide screen is one of the advantages that users have always enjoyed from Sony.

Battery

The battery life is believed to be poor and it is poorly made. The E-series design is not really made to be portable so battery life can be subsidized by the power plug at most of the time. In its category   it is considered one of the strongest competitors in the market against DELL and hp.  Browsing the web, watching movies playing video games that do not require much graphics power are advantages of Sony E series. It’s a concrete option for college students who leave their computer plugged in most of the time and want an entertainment device. In addition it is also perfect for around-the-house users. Anyone that often strays away from a power plug, nevertheless, will want to consider another model.

Multimedia enhancements along with the large comfortable keyboard makes the E-series your best shot for your college years, but watch out for the battery life if you intend to travel using it.
