A video introduction to the ultra-portable new Toshiba Satellite U500. Available in the UK from late July – for more information go to uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com
Really Cool!
is the same video than A500
what is the difference?
well mine might be a older but i dont have fingerprint reader i have face recognition also it might be because i live in canada so the model might be a little different
@kingdan1foo Yes toshiba does use a fingerprint reader….I just bought one of these and it has one.
pissed that this model doesnt have a disk drive yet my u500 does
@pivoteerable i know in canada and u.s have windows 7
@MurdocLC it doesnt’ have a volume wheel because it is in the same row as the ecomode with a plus and minus side
@GravityUpsideDown toshiba does not use a fingerprint reader instead it uses face recognition
whats better a500 or u500
why doesnt the u500 have win. 7? Or is that just Holland
whats better this or the a500 satllite
WTF!? A Toshiba with no volume wheel!?
I have the Toshiba Satellite Pro U500 and the only major nag is the touchpad mouse is SO annoying! Otherwise a lovely machine but a devastating let down with the mouspad, have to use a USB mouse but defeats the object of portability. Keyboard is smooth though, fast typing. Lovely touch responsive keys at the top too. Cute look, matt so no fingerprints!
That’s in the late 2009 model, this is the older model…
Seeing the HP DM3 at another store with less lights and probably different settings made me change my mind. The display is not that bad.
The display is not that bad actually. I was thinking of getting the HP DM3 until I saw it in person. The screen was so damn glossy that I had such a hard time seeing the desktop. Even without any lights on it seemed like it wouldn’t be that much better. I pretty much loved everything about the U500 except the speakers and a little bit bigger screen would have made it perfect.
does anyone know where the fingerprint reader is?
Does anyone know how to turn the keyboard on the U500??? I searched so much and cant find it anywhere.
A review of this book showed that the display isn’t too good.
The contrasts are really low and the reflections are strong. So it is not good working with it outdoors on a non-cloudy day unless you want to stress your eyes….
To offer this book with the components for this relative cheap price, Toshiba had to save production cost somewhere…..
Well the display and the battery. It’s a puty.
I would love to see an upgraded version of this.
I would pay up to 300€ more for it!
looks interesting, good price given the specs
I dont really like what I red about battery performance..
yea they do but like it’s not U500… lmao
Thanks! Never knew that? Do you have it?
A 500 is a bit larger and heavier. This laptop is perfect for people on the go. I seriously will consider buy one when the price drops.
do you know if maby they make bigger screens?
the pink one is reallly cool. love it so much
So how is it? I am interested in this little buddy.
lol i would've repaired them

how much is this
